In May, Portorož is revived in the spirit of in what is the fifth annual Day of Roses and Healthy Cuisine. The star of the event is of course the Portorož rose that will connect the highlights of our destination: cuisine and healthy lifestyle.

Providers of healthy cuisine, well-known Slovene chefs and culinary bloggers will be taking part on 29 May in the rose garden in Portorož.

Our biggest attraction, one of the best in the world, will surely attract a lot of attention.

On the stage, we will cook together with Ana Roš. Of course, there will also be gardeners selling flowers and the Portorož rose, creative workshops for children and an organized tour of the parks in Portorož.

On that day, as has now become the tradition, we'll plant the Rose of Fame. It’s a project we started in 2014, and a famous person from the field of pop culture, art or sport plants a Portorož rose, which is a registered variety.  So far, the honour has been given to the singer and Slovenian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest Tinkara Kovač who lives in the region (2014) and to the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor (2015, pictured). For now the name of the celebrity who will plant this year's rose is being kept secret.

In the early evening, music will echo through the Portorož Rose Garden with the delightful Marina Martensson on the stage.  But the day won’t finish with that, because for the grand finale we will present something new in Portorož's tourism offer. Our best chefs will demonstrate their skills and prepare an unforgettable Dinner on the Pier. A colourful sunset will round up a perfect romantic experience.
